Lufthansa Airlines recently celebrated its 50 years of successful flights and services in Thailand with series of activities such as 1.5 Million Baht donation to the Pattaya Orphanage, a press luncheon and an evening celebration.  Lufthansa has continued its 50th anniversary celebration with a new campaign, offering Thai customers even faster connections to Europe and beyond. Etihad Crystal Cargo will operate a special Red Crescent and Khalifa Welfare Foundation charter flight to Haiti on Wednesday January 20, carrying medical and humanitarian supplies to the earthquake hit country. The MD11 aircraft, which will use its full capacity of 88 tonnes, will fly first to Casablanca and then onto Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The cargo will be unloaded there and taken to neighbouring Haiti.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, today launched a new Apple iPhone application for members of its award-winning loyalty programme - Etihad Guest. It is the first application of its kind to offer real-time loyalty points redemption for its users.

Alitalia and Etihad Airways today (December 21, 2009) exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that confirms the airlines’ intention to operate a codeshare agreement from the start of the Northern Summer season in April 2010, subject to government approvals.
