Thailand’s greatest Michael Jackson tribute
Paragon Cineplex and Siam Paragon recently co-hosted the ‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It: This is ‘Thai Tribute’ event at Parc Paragon, Siam Paragon which attracted as many as 1,000 Thai fans to gather for a major tribute to the King of Pop. Celebrities, artists and fans participated in a mass dance routine to the hit single Beat It and joined a Jackson-inspired performance by leading Thai artists.
‘Michael Jackson’s This Is It: This is ‘Thai Tribute’ included the movie trailer, Jackson related items including all CD records from Sony Music were available as well as free Beat It song downloads. Leading artists such as James-Ruengsak Loychusak, Three Kings and the Babe, Wit AF1, Tik Shiro, TV host Nui-Pongsuk Hirunyapruk and Yaya Ying, Bell and Jenny from Brazia performed at a mini concert covering Jackson’s hit singles.
The Beat It mass dance performance led by celebrities, artists and fans included professional dance instructor Kru Ped-Vanessa Kansophon, Patee Sarasin, Bank Pachara Panyayong, Nina Suthita Ruengronghiranya, Dr Pop Thawara Siripipat, Toon AF3, Dong AF3, Sara AF3 and over 1,000 fans.
A chill out mini concert by Sony Music singers’ Champ-Suppawat Piranon, Art-Kaneearch Dandumrongsuk and Too- Poptorn Suntornyarnkij was presented before the memorial night ended with a Heal the World sing along.
Anawat Ongwasit, Deputy Managing Director of Major Cineplex Group Plc. Said:
‘The event is being held as homage to the departed Michael Jackson and to acknowledge the Michael Jackson’s: This Is It movie. The special music documentary was built around previously unseen rehearsal footage of the late singer’s planned concert.’

All 1,000 fans also received limited edition plastic movie tickets to the ‘Michael Jackson This Is It’ world movie premier at Paragon Cineplex and limited edition Michael Jackson style gloves designed by Playboy.
The public screening premiered in Thailand on 28 October 2009 at 11.00 hrs and 13.30 hrs local time - the same day as worldwide screenings - at Paragon Cineplex digital theatres No. 7 and No. 11.
Fans have also shared their personal MJ dance clip VDO at www.majorcineplex.com. The most viewed clip will be awarded with a 10,000 gift voucher from Body Shape.
